The most misheard lyrics of all time, according to search

Some lyrics are so commonly misheard that people type the wrong version straight into Google. Using US Google search volume, we measured how often the internet's most famous "mondegreens" are searched word for word. Elton John's "Tiny Dancer" tops the list: "hold me closer Tony Danza" gets about 1,600 searches a month. Next come Taylor Swift's "Starbucks lovers" (the actual line is "long list of ex-lovers") and the Eurythmics' "sweet dreams are made of cheese", at about 1,000 each. The misheard line from Manfred Mann's "Blinded by the Light", "wrapped up like a douche", is searched 720 times a month, nearly half as often as the real line "revved up like a deuce" (1,600). The word "mondegreen" itself is searched 6,600 times a month. A new generation of mishearings is arriving, too: KPop Demon Hunters misheard-lyrics queries (390 a month) now rival Pearl Jam's famously mumbled "Yellow Ledbetter".
