We tracked US Google search for 28 musicians from two years before their death to up to three years after. In every case the death week is the all-time high in the window. For 19 of them, normal pre-death interest was under 1% of that peak. The typical artist fell back under 10% of the peak within 2 weeks. Michael Jackson (6 weeks), Aretha Franklin (4 weeks), Prince (3 weeks), Avicii (3 weeks), Nipsey Hussle (3 weeks) held on longest. A lasting lift is rare: in the second year after, only 2 of the 9 artists with a pre-death baseline of at least 1 were still searched at least 1.5 times as much as before (Michael Jackson, Juice WRLD).

How to read it
- "Weeks until under 10" counts weekly points from the peak week until interest drops below 10% of the peak.
- "Year-2 vs pre-death" is shown where the pre-death average is at least 1.
What it means
Fame shows up in reads, streams and searches, but it starts with a song. If you have a hook of your own, an AI song generator can turn it into a full track with vocals in a few minutes. For a soundtrack to your own day, an AI music generator can score it to whatever mood you need.
Method
- Google search interest, US, web search, one artist per query, weekly data from 24 months before death to 36 months after (or Sep 2026). Each artist's own peak week = 100.
- 28 musicians who died 2009–2025, chosen for broad US fame.
