A quiet study space with a laptop, books, and coffee, hinting at research.

Wikipedia publishes its 1,000 most-read articles for every day. We took the 1st and 15th of every month from January 2019 to September 2026 (186 days) and counted how often a music article made the top 100; on a typical day that took about 38,262 views. Taylor Swift made it on 41 days (22% of those days), well ahead of XXXTentacion (35), Billie Eilish (26) and Freddie Mercury (21). Newer stars broke in fast: Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan, who first appeared in 2024, logged 10 days each. Songs almost never get there. Only 5 song articles made the top 100 on any of those days, the highest being Adele's 'Easy on Me' at #47 on its release day, Oct 15, 2021.

What it means

Fame shows up in reads, streams and searches, but it starts with a song. If you have a hook of your own, an AI song generator can turn it into a full track with vocals in a few minutes. For a soundtrack to your own day, an AI music generator can score it to whatever mood you need.

Method

  • English Wikipedia's daily list of its 1,000 most-viewed articles, all devices. Days covered: the 1st and 15th of each month from Jan 2019 to Sep 2026; a 'day in the top 100' means rank 1–100 on one of those days.
  • The music articles matched are the 754 artist, song and album pages in our lists (well-known artists and songs, Hot 100 No. 1s since 2016, Spotify's all-time top 300 songs and their lead artists).
